Colorado law dictates that ONLY verified instructors can issue a Handgun Safety Certificate that is acceptable for issuance of a Colorado Handgun Permit (a.k.a. Concealed Weapons Permit)
Instructor Verification
Each County sheriff must verify instructors after the instructor submits an application. The instructor has to also be an instructor by a nationally recognized organization that is in the business of teaching firearms instructors. (e.g. NRA, NSSF USCCA)

What equipment will I need?
Generally speaking you will need a firearm, a holster, two magazines, a magazine holder, a sturdy belt, a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition, eye protection, ear protection, and weather appropriate clothing. Each class my have different requirements, see our registration page for more information.
When do I receive my certificate?
Only hard copy certificates are accepted by law with the original signature from the instructor. Most instructors will issue a certificate directly after the class is compete and you meet all requirements; however, some may want to send a certificate in the mail. Please see our class pages to learn more.
How much does a Concealed Carry Class cost?
Instructors name their own prices, but you can expect a course to be between $150-220 excluding ammunition, rentals, range fees, etc. See prices here.

How long are classes?
Concealed Handgun Classes for your initial application must be 8-hours by law. Renewals must be 2-hours by law. Classes that fall outside the scope of the Colorado Concealed Permit Program vary from class to class. Please see our class pages to learn more.
